Overview
Spending the night in a Sundarban Houseboat has always been a unique experience. The explanation for this is straightforward. In all other regions, such as Kerala or Kashmir, we have houseboats that are stationed, parked, or anchored along the river or lake’s shore at night. The situation is different in Sundarbans National Park, however, due to tigers’ fear. The Houseboats are anchored in the middle of the river since tigers may swim here. As the Houseboat sits stranded in the middle of the river, the lapping sound of water on the underbelly produces an unsettling quiet.
Sitting on the Houseboat’s deck, with a cup of cooling tea, watching the dawn and sunset.
